Part 9/11:

Finally, at number 1, is Operation Overlord, better known as D-Day. Launched on June 6, 1944, it was the largest amphibious invasion in history, marking a turning point in WWII. While the landings on Normandy beaches are legendary, what made the operation truly remarkable was its covert deception strategy.

The Allies executed Operation Bodyguard, a masterful deception campaign that included fake radio transmissions, double agents, inflatable tanks, and impersonators. They even hired actor Emy Clifton James to impersonate British General Montgomery in public, spreading misinformation about the invasion location. These efforts convinced the Germans that the main attack would happen elsewhere—far from Normandy—leading to the thinning of German defenses.
