Part 15/17:
Starting Tuesday night, South Korean military officials observed over 50 balloons scattered across the border area, with a total of around 260 balloons landed or found by Wednesday morning. These crudely filled balloons traveled considerable distances, even reaching hundreds of miles south into South Korea.
The South Korean military condemned North Korea’s action as a violation of international law and a serious threat to civilian safety. Pyongyang’s government claims the balloons are a response to South Korean activists who periodically send leaflets, USB drives, and K-pop music over the border to undermine the North Korean regime.
