Part 1/4:
Introducing Sentinel: An Underwater Research Habitat with Space Station Ambitions
In an exciting development that blurs the line between science fiction and reality, a new underwater research habitat called Sentinel is on the horizon. Inspired by concepts from films like The Meg and reminiscent of space station design, Sentinel aims to establish a permanent human presence beneath the waves.
A Vision for Underwater Exploration
Sentinel is envisioned as an expansive, modular, and scalable habitat that will be positioned approximately 200 meters below the surface of the UK coast. This depth is particularly significant because it is home to roughly 90% of marine life, making it an optimal location for in-depth oceanic research.
