While working as an employee at Airbnb, Armstrong grappled with self-doubt, especially given the complexity of blockchain technology, involving private keys and cybersecurity concerns. It was, indeed, hard to grasp without a computer science background. The technology's clunkiness and difficulty of use made adoption slow in the early days. Yet, what attracted Armstrong was its universal accessibility — the idea that anyone could participate in this new economy, regardless of location or background. This conviction spurred him to build something to facilitate growth and access in the crypto space.
