The concept of a circular economy is central to sustainable development. Instead of viewing CO2 emissions as waste, they are seen as feedstock for creating new, useful products. By developing processes that re-use emitted CO2, industries can close the loop, drastically reducing net emissions and mitigating climate change effects.
While the fuels produced are carbon-neutral—since the amount of CO2 released during fuel combustion is balanced by the amount captured during production—they do not eliminate CO2 emissions entirely. Instead, they prevent adding additional greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, maintaining a balanced, sustainable cycle.
