He initiated a petition on Change.org directed at publishers, urging them to release more research articles freely and temporarily waive paywalls related to COVID-19. This grassroots effort garnered significant support, accumulating over 30,000 signatures and raising awareness about the importance of open scientific communication.
He also created freeread.org, an ongoing platform advocating for open access to research beyond the pandemic. His campaigns extend to petitioning organizations like the International Organization for Standardization, urging them to release data that could assist in developing lifesaving technology, such as ventilators.
