Part 3/10:
Community First! Village began over two decades ago as a simple effort to feed people on the streets. What evolved from those initial outreach efforts is a comprehensive model that prioritizes relationship-building. Instead of a transactional system—where homelessness is managed through meals, temporary housing, and jobs—the community seeks to create a familial environment where residents are valued and supported.
This approach acknowledges that homelessness, especially chronic cases, often stems from profound loss—particularly the loss of family connections. The village aims to heal this gap by fostering a sense of family among its residents, empowering them to regain dignity and purpose. Every neighbor living in the village pays rent, reinforcing ownership and stability.
