Streamlining permit processes and adjusting pollution regulations could incentivize landowners and agencies to burn more often, drastically reducing potential wildfire fuel.
Additionally, policies should incentivize private landowners to participate in fuel reduction efforts. Since small landowners can make a significant cumulative impact through regular prescribed burning, creating supportive frameworks is crucial for nationwide wildfire mitigation.
