Before their activism, Craig and Jerry were entrenched in the very system they now seek to dismantle. Their jobs involved collecting substantial medical bills, a task they found increasingly distasteful.
Craig recounts, "I never liked the debt collection business. I was in a family business. I ended up starting to make money early—and then it was so hard to not make money anymore, so I stayed in it." His experiences collecting millions of dollars in medical bills eventually led to a shift in perspective.
