At the heart of Clean Decisions' approach is providing employment opportunities, mentorship, and community. The organization was founded by someone who understands the struggles of returning citizens firsthand. They focus on giving jobs, pairing individuals with navigators or mentors—people who have been through the system and are now thriving outside of it.
A core element is community and unconditional support. Participants are encouraged that failure is part of life but that resilience and perseverance are key. One participant shares how the support system helped him regain his footing after giving up temporarily: "They got me right back up on my feet. They didn't have to do it, but they did, and I appreciate it."
