The app automates and quantifies this process by analyzing the color of a person’s fingernails—an area unaffected by facial pigmentation or skin tone, thus providing a more standardized measure.
When a user takes a photo of their fingernail, the app processes the image, quantifies its color, and estimates hemoglobin levels. This method bypasses the need for blood draws, expensive laboratory equipment, or visits to medical facilities, making anemia screening accessible—even in remote or low-resource environments.
