One such leader, Thalia Cherry, is a trailblazer dedicated to entrepreneurship. She founded Entrepreneurship KC, a five-week program designed to provide youth with direct access to entrepreneurs and teach the principles of design thinking, fostering innovation and problem-solving skills. Thalia's motivation stemmed from Kansas City’s ranking as 49th in longevity of African-American businesses, revealing the critical need for targeted economic development efforts.
Through her efforts, Thalia has not only broken barriers herself but is actively working to open opportunities for others. Her journey exemplifies how individual initiatives can spark broader systemic change.
