Back on My Feet uniquely uses running as a tool to help homeless individuals regain confidence, build community, and achieve self-sufficiency. It didn’t initially make sense to this member that they could be part of something so beautiful, much less run a full block, but the volunteers, along with the shared experience, proved otherwise. They describe that sense of achievement as “magic,” emphasizing how small steps—walks turning into miles—can lead to substantial transformations.
