When considering space exploration, a common misconception is that the entire rocket is filled with the payload—whether it be satellites, astronauts, or scientific instruments. In reality, much of a rocket's structure is dedicated to fuel. From the base of the rocket all the way up, these components serve primarily as propellant, which can be expelled at high velocity to propel the spacecraft into orbit or further into space.
