Jeff Denholm’s story is as inspiring as his technological pursuits. An adventurous outdoor athlete, Denholm’s life took a dramatic turn in the summer of 1993 when a storm in the Bering Sea caused a severe accident. Working on a fishing vessel, he slipped and was pulled into a processing machine, losing his arm in the process. Surviving 21 hours at sea before rescue, the injury forced him to reinvent himself and adapt to life with a prosthetic.
His resilience and resourcefulness didn't wane; instead, they fueled his innovation. He built custom prosthetics, including a paddle blade for paddleboarding, transforming a traumatic event into a 'hard reset' that propelled him into new pursuits—outdoor sports, wildland firefighting, and groundbreaking technological development.
