A pivotal advantage of robotic surgery is the ability to perceive the operational field in three dimensions. Traditional laparoscopy provides two-dimensional views, which can sometimes hinder depth perception and spatial judgment. The robotic system uses stereoscopic endoscopes with dual cameras—each acting like an eye—allowing the surgeon to fuse these images into a three-dimensional visualization. When the surgeon is at the console, they experience a fully immersive view, feeling as though they are directly inside the patient, moving through and around structures with natural depth perception.
