Once captured, the debris and the servicing craft will gradually slow down and re-enter Earth’s atmosphere, where they will burn up harmlessly. The entire operation is exceptionally costly, with estimates exceeding 100 million dollars and a timeline extending to 2025. Despite these challenges, successfully demonstrating debris removal is essential for the future of space operations.
