The distribution of aid has become a contentious issue. Israeli officials have publicly claimed that the United Nations (UN) is failing to deliver food effectively. However, evidence suggests that Israel and the United States have taken control over the distribution process. They have shut down the UN’s 400 aid centers, effectively blocking direct humanitarian efforts by the UN.
In their place, the US and Israeli authorities attempt to organize aid convoys. Yet, the UN reports that such efforts are hampered by an inability to secure necessary permits due to strict and often arbitrary restrictions. These restrictions severely limit not only the general flow of supplies but also essential items like baby food, which are critical for vulnerable populations such as infants.
