Part 2/17:
In recent months, the Chinese media has reported a sharp change in the landscape of foreign investment within the country. Notably, on November 4th, mainland Chinese outlets announced that the American tech giant SAS Institute is withdrawing from China, laying off all 400 employees stationed there. The announcement came through an internal email and a brief video conference, with employees being required to sign termination agreements by November 14th. This move marks a significant retreat for SAS, which had entered the Chinese market in 1999 and established a research and development center along with a user support hub in Beijing by 2005.
