For men, abandoning their sexual strategy might simply mean stopping their pursuit of multiple partners in practice.
For women, abandoning open hypergamy is far more complex, primarily because of how deeply ingrained it is in culture and biology. Even when a woman claims to be monogamous, her subconscious drive toward hypergamy remains active.
