Part 9/11:
During this period, Brosnan was offered the role of James Bond in The Living Daylights, which he accepted, and Zimbleist secured a part in RoboCop. Both actors were contractually obliged to reprise their roles in the final episodes, but Brosnan's Bond role replaced Brosnan’s Remington Steele, and Nancy Allen was cast as the new female lead.
The series wrapped in February 1987, leaving a legacy that endured beyond its initial run.
Legacy, Home Media, and Hope for Reboot
20th Century Fox later produced DVD box sets covering all five seasons, though early releases included some packaging errors, such as misrepresenting cast members. Nevertheless, the availability of Remington Steele on DVD helped rekindle interest.
