However, this new stance has not been universally accepted within the ruling party. Germany’s Foreign Minister, also from the CDU, has publicly disagreed, stating that it's not feasible for Syrians to return soon due to ongoing hardships and the lack of dignity in current living conditions. This intra-party disagreement highlights a significant split at the top levels regarding the direction of immigration policy.
