The Evolution of Bitcoin Conferences
Gary’s initial Bitcoin event, launched about seven years ago, demonstrated his knack for building successful gatherings. He aimed to create conferences that he himself would enjoy—informative, engaging, and community-focused—not overly commercialized. His philosophy remains that most attendees are ordinary people, “average Joe’s,” seeking authentic connections and meaningful content.
Despite early challenges—like low ticket sales—Gary’s persistent efforts paid off. The inaugural conference drew about 75 people, with a core group of devoted Bitcoiners. Sponsorships, including one paid entirely in Bitcoin, helped establish credibility and momentum.
