Part 2/11:
Decker reminisced about the first-ever Lightning show, which was conducted with the interviewer over four years ago in Boston. Back then, Lightning was an experimental protocol, with many features still in development. The initial show took place in a small room—possibly a professor's office—and marked a significant milestone in bringing Lightning to a broader audience.
He recalled launching his podcast in November 2017, initially with few episodes before gaining momentum in early 2018. By 2019, Lightning had reached version 1.0 of its specification, a pivotal moment for standardization in the protocol. Since then, tremendous progress has been made, with many of the aspirational features now part of the core implementation.
