There’s a notable double standard present in these campaigns. When critics of The Acolyte and other Disney Star Wars projects critique characters or storylines—such as the portrayal of Luke Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi—they aren’t labeled racists or sexist. But criticism involving marginalized characters or actors of color often results in accusations of bigotry.
For example, Channel RK Outpost, which I run, has received false claims of harassment for criticizing characters like Reva in Kenobi or actress Moses Ingram. The reality is simple: expressing an opinion about storytelling or character development should not be weaponized as an attack on identity or a call for censorship.
