He also defended the portrayal of women in Star Wars, citing Princess Leia and Queen Amidala as strong leaders and heroes. Lucas underscored that heroism isn’t body type or attire but intelligence, leadership, and resolve—traits embodied by these characters who, according to him, can wear dresses or armor and still be formidable.
