Part 5/7:
The Misinterpretation and Its Consequences
Contrary to Lucas’s explanation, modern Star Wars narratives, especially under Disney, often portray the Force as a superpower available to anyone—obliterating the nuanced philosophy that once made the saga profound. Recent media, such as Ahsoka, have shown Force sensitivity as commonplace, undermining the idea of balance and mastery.
Additionally, some industry figures and writers have tried to oversimplify or distort the idea of balance. For example, actor Freddy Prince Jr. claimed that true balance in the Force was achieved only after Darth Vader’s redemption and the fall of Palpatine—an interpretation that again neglects the deep, internal understanding of the Force Lucas intended.
