The Struggles of Modern Star Wars Games
EA’s stewardship has been a mixed bag. While Jedi: Fallen Order and its sequel Jedi Survivor were well-received, they have not been enough to restore the franchise's reputation in gaming fully. Even with the success of these titles, the announcement of a new Jedi trilogy and other projects seem to be overshadowed by the gaming industry’s ongoing issues.
The community's current sentiment reflects a craving for innovation and quality—a desire for new, engaging titles that push the boundaries of what Star Wars games can be. Sadly, the cancellation of Respawn’s project exemplifies how far the franchise has fallen from its former glory. Instead of opening new doors, the focus appears to be on minimizing risk and cutting costs.
