This turnaround raises questions about respect and trust. Had Lucasfilm and Disney approached fan feedback with sincerity from the beginning—either by listening to concerns or respecting the franchise's legacy—perhaps the backlash would not have been so severe. Instead, decisions driven by marketing strategies, narrative experiments, and a desire to diversify characters at times seemed to dismiss traditional fans' attachment to the original stories and characters.
