For instance, characters like the protagonist are portrayed with inconsistent motivations. The protagonist, who claims to distrust the institution, paradoxically works within or interacts heavily with it. The episode's latter half devolves into a series of contradictory scenes: aliens are supposedly faked, yet the presence of real extraterrestrials is hinted at repeatedly, leading to confusion about what is real and what is not.
