Part 2/16:
Throughout the episode, the narrative throws in dialogues condemning coercive control, yet simultaneously depicts the protagonist Belinda Chowry as insufferable and self-centered, seemingly only to make the Doctor (played by Russell T. Davis’s chosen actor, presumably an homage to David Tennant in flamboyance) appear less annoying by comparison. Belinda’s character, notably, is portrayed as egocentric, manipulative, and lacking self-awareness—traits that become more evident as the episode progresses.
