Part 5/12:
Despite its ideological shortcomings, G20 contains some sequences that could have been exhilarating in a different context. Action scenes—particularly Viola Davis’s combat moments—are among the film’s saving graces. However, these are often marred by unrealistic portrayals, such as a character fighting a Marine or hacking into advanced financial systems with evident scientific ignorance. The film’s portrayal of technology is laughable; blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and cybersecurity are depicted more as Hollywood fantasies than real-world mechanics. It’s a reflection of the film’s broader problem: characters often feel like placeholders for a message rather than fleshed-out individuals with believable motivations.
