Part 9/15:
The Parody That Tried to Be Serious
The opening segments feel like a parody of a Minecraft movie—mocking the very idea of taking the game seriously. Instead of an immersive universe, characters deliver manifestos about divorce and "Hollywood cynicism," as if acknowledging that the film is a joke or a satire. Yet, the film desperately attempts to be "serious," resulting in a confusing tone that oscillates between parody and earnestness—neither successful.
Characters talk about how "open-world games don't have stories," implying that the film was made by people who don't understand or respect the medium they are working with. The villain’s plot is nonsensical: a gold-hunting, dance-loving sorceress who hates creativity for some reason, adding to the film's overall randomness.
