Themes and Lack of Moral Substance
What about the film’s message? Strangely, it appears to lack a clear moral or inspirational theme. The protagonist, a little boy modeled for the audience to project onto, shows no growth in heroism or self-discovery; he is instantly good at everything, with no need to learn or develop skills. The narrative seems to be a Captain Marvel-inspired "instant hero" trope, where characters are beneficial only because they already possess the right traits.
