Ironically, the very ideology meant to foster inclusivity and progressiveness is perceived by many to be self-destructive. It leads to a cycle where standards are relentlessly lowered, stories become less immersive, and original cultural elements are erased in the name of "diversity." Eventually, this can produce a perversion of the source material—akin to Wheel of Time in the Harry Potter universe—resulting in a version that bears little resemblance to what fans cherished.
