One of the major gripes concerns the characters' inconsistent motivations. Many characters flip between wanting to surrender, run away, or attack; their decisions seem driven more by plot convenience than logic. For example, characters who intend to surrender immediately start fighting or trying to escape without reason. This inconsistency renders their emotional arcs nonsensical.
The relationship dynamics are equally perplexing. The antagonist, a Sith, is portrayed as upset with his own apprentice for betraying him, despite the very reason for their alliance—power and chaos—being rooted in betrayal and violence. This hypocrisy is noted as fundamentally uncharacteristic of Sith motives, which should be rooted in ambition, not sentimentality.
