A flawed aspect of the series' combat is the inconsistent rules governing lightsabers and Force powers. Characters can supposedly disable enemies' weapons with a single strike, yet not finish them off immediately, leading to nonsensical pauses. For example:
Characters deflect or smash other characters’ lightsabers but then wait inexplicably — allowing opponents time to recover.
The idea that hitting someone’s lightsaber with a hand or headbutting it—even when it’s the obvious weak point—makes little strategic sense and largely serves to pad fight scenes.
The series appears to ignore established Star Wars canon, such as the fact that cutting a lightsaber in half would destroy it, yet here, sabotaged blades are easily repaired or reactivated.
