Part 2/7:
Investigators identified a specific area north of Campus Drive Road, adjacent to the Utah Valley University (UVU) campus, where the suspect crossed over during the incident. This area was characterized by a grassy terrain with trees bordering the campus. It was here that law enforcement recovered a significant piece of evidence—a bolt-action rifle wrapped in a dark-colored towel.
The weapon was conclusively identified as a Mouser Model 9830 6mm caliber bolt-action rifle, equipped with a mounted scope. Crucially, investigators noted inscriptions engraved on the casings found with the weapon, providing potential insights into the suspect’s behavior and motives.
