One of the most criticized aspects pertains to the character May, who undergoes a sudden, unmotivated change of heart. She starts off as an evil Sith, murdering Jedi Masters, then inexplicably shifts to being "not evil"—a decision justified without any real circumstances or narrative buildup. The episode makes no effort to resolve her betrayal or explain her redemption arc; instead, it feels forced and nonsensical.
