There was a suspicion that the show aimed to push progressive and possibly provocative themes, with some noting its liberal inclusions of LGBTQ+ representation, which critics referred to as "arguably the gayest Star Wars" or "the gayest" depending on who’s speaking. This, combined with a notably diverse cast including characters inspired by Trinity from The Matrix (played by Leslie Headland), seemed to reflect an attempt at inclusivity, albeit executed with questionable effectiveness.
