Mark Cuban on crypto

in LeoFinance3 years ago

Hi,

today I've stumbled upon a very interesting interview with Mark Cuban. I've posted it in here, so that it can be viewed also by you:

Mark Cuban is one of the crypto supporters and sees the potential of it. He admits that BTC has more value than gold, and it can replace as a value of storage in the future.

Also, he prizes ETH, being better than BTC, which is true, giving the possibilities it offers as a blockchain. He sees DeFi bringing in the financial revolution that will replace banks and other institutions that define now the money.

What I like the most, is the way he described the NFTs and how he approaches them. NFTs bought are owned by us, even if physical they don't exist we own them. He showed a card and said that the image on the card can be found freely on the internet and the stats are also not that great, but he owns it. This is the same with the NFTs, you own them, and this is guaranteed by the chain.

The artists have the possibility to gain some percentage with every sale, which brings a lot of benefits for the initial creators.

I was seeing NFTs like this, on the contrary, I've seen them as some cheap way of selling an overpriced image to a lot of people.

If I think better, the NFT can also tie the ownership of a physical product like a painting displayed in a museum where the owner chooses to let more people see it. This could bring the physical art into the digital one and creating a secure connection and ownership assurance.

If the artist gets further incentives from future sales, even better, he is the creator.

Getting back to Mark Cuban, his team, the Dallas Mavericks will accept Doge coin for tickets. It makes the joke token now viable and gives also a use case, buying NBA tickets, which is a cool thing. Doge is not a HODL coin for me, so I would use them to see an NBA game.

After seeing this interview, what do you think about his views? Does he have a point?

I like the way he's thinking about simplifying the process and I like his analogy to the internet in the past. Nobody liked the huge hassles to get it working and I think it is one thing we need to change. I think the Leo onboarding process has made this easier but I still think it is still complicated to people who aren't technologically savvy.
