A portfolio falling 10% in a single day doesn't prove a lack of competence. Many external factors beyond control don't reflect intelligence

Seeing people post 20%–30% stock drops while a portfolio is only down about 0.5%
If a portfolio lost 10% in a day, that would indicate not knowing what one is doing
