Invest - Compound - Retire

in LeoFinance3 years ago

Probably for most of us, the end goal is retiring from our day jobs. Some of us have done it already, others like myself are still on their way. Not all of us will make it, especially not those who are panic selling every time there's a market correction. I didn't sell too much on the way up and now I'm left with bags that are far from their all-time highs. Although I could have done better, I'm grateful for these lessons.

Not only have I invested my fiat into crypto, but I've also spent a lot of time reading and educating myself about the countless opportunities that the crypto industry presents us with. The more knowledge I gain, the more confident I become that we're on a brink of global change that will result in a massive shift of wealth. Even if we slide into a bear market, I'll keep compounding my investments until we are back in the bull again.

Investing

It's not just money that successful people invest. First and foremost, it's time. Yeah, you can throw your money away randomly in hundreds of projects and hope that one of them grows to a billion-dollar market cap but that's just pure gambling. To achieve the end goal, you must be willing to do more and spend time doing that.

Time

86,400 seconds. That's what you get in a day. Will you spend them contemplating on your past mistakes or will you move forward and work your ass off to succeed? It depends on how strong your willpower is and whether or not you can develop a positive routine. If you're already doing it, congrats, you're on the right path!

Money

Spend less than you earn. It's the first rule of the money club. And it's the only way you can save fiat to invest in a project of your choice. You can also invest it in yourself in various ways, for example, by buying a gadget or a thing you need to earn more than you're spending. That's how you get that filthy fiat into crypto.

Health

Sleepless nights and hours staring at the screen are not healthy. If you're in crypto, you've probably dealt with this. Many don't realize that their actions have an impact on their health, both physical and mental. Having all your savings in crypto or a big leverage position can mess you up for good. Take care of your health by having a strategy and maintaining it!

Compounding

No matter the way the market goes, compounding is a must if you want to accomplish your main goal of financial freedom. When you have chosen a project, you should stick to it and add more whenever you can. Whatever the amount of your investment is, compounding is what makes it bigger. One coin a day results in 365 coins after a year. If you're a DeFi user, you probably know a lot about compounding.

CubDefi

Since day one, I've been farming CUB tokens in various pools, and I don't plan to stop anytime soon. The more CUB I get, the more I can add to liquidity pools, the bigger my gains are. Pure and simple.

Yes, the price may go down in short term but I'm confident that CUBs won't disappear anywhere because of the great community of Leo and Hive users. Whenever it comes back up, I'll have a pretty nice amount of various crypto assets in the pool.

Now that CUB kingdoms have launched, I've staked some CAKE to earn both CUB and CAKE tokens. A great thing about Kingdoms is the auto compounding built into the smart contract. Lovely, isn't it?

Thorswap

Another platform where I've invested in is Thorswap created by RUNE. You all talked about it a half year ago and it made me buy some of the RUNE myself. Thanks a lot - it turned out to be one of the best investments I have ever made. Almost all of my RUNE tokens are now in various liquidity pools on Thorswap where earnings are automatically compounded.

I'm also bullish about RUNE because they have all these projects coming out. Imagine if some of them airdrop tokens to RUNE holders or liquidity providers? That would be awesome!

Ester Finance

I joined this one because I participated in an airdrop and got free tokens to play with. Instead of selling them, I decided to get into my first Fantom project. Fantom blockchain works just the way Ethereum, BSC, Matic, and others work. You can easily add the network to your MetaMask wallet and start adding tokens to various pools.

Torum Finance

This one is still in the making but I believe that it's going to be awesome. A DeFi project of one of the fastest-growing crypto social networks all around the internet. Pretty soon, Torum will release XTM (their native token) on the market and the real growth will start. Take a look at my blog, I've talked a lot about Torum and why it's going to be big. Recently, it crossed 50 thousand user mark and as the token comes out, there's nothing to stop Torum from becoming a place where all crypto folks meet each other.

Leo Finance

The last couple of weeks have been harder than ever when it comes to compounding and staking my LEO tokens. It's actually because of CUBs and me wrapping all my earnings to bLEO so that I can put them in a LEO - CUB farm on CubDefi. Now I have started to power up again so that my upvote gets bigger and I can reward other users with more than 0.1 LEO.

Retiring

What does it mean for you to retire? To me, it is leaving my day job and being able to live off of my investments. It's not about retiring from crypto and investing. It's the opposite - the less I have to do other things, the more time I have to make it in crypto. The investor mindset is real but it only works when you work your ass off doing the little things.

Why retire?

Why would you want to fully retire from the thing you've been mastering all your life? Once you get it going, there's nothing to stop you. I'm here for the long-term. And I'm ready to crush it! Just like all of us, right?

When?

Right now! Stay away from the noise in the media, keep learning, compound your gains and experiences, and get better with each passing day. Engage with others, learn about different communities, and become a part of at least one. I'm in a few places to get the word around about @bagofincome and I'll keep grinding, hopefully, forever.

How?

Just keep doing the stuff you love and bring it to the blockchain. I'm doing it by writing on leofinance which is built upon HIVE. Therefore, my word will remain on the chain forever. The more I write, the better I will become, the bigger my stake will be. One day, one block at a time until one day I can look back at this post as the beginning of what turned out to be an adventure of a lifetime. Who knows? But remember:

To Conclude with a Request

Thanks for reading. It would be awesome if you shared your favorite crypto projects in the comment section. Leo folks always know what's up. Tell me, what have I missed and need to research. Thanks!

Peace, your @bagofincome

Nice read! I agree 100% you've got some good projects that I'm also involved in, I definitely need to up my RUNE game too! I'm also into ALGO and MATIC, both definitely have the potential to be way further than what they are and also CAKE of course it seems like all of these are at a discount too! !LUV

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks! It's nice to hear - I started using some Matic projects too.

You might like to look at Sovryn. It's the first DeFi on Bitcoin, and they've just launched an Ethereum to Bitcoin Bridge.
Also Qortal QORT, Lethian LTHN and Dero.

Thanks a lot! Going to do my research tomorrow!

Check out @kennyskitchen's post re Lethean. It will save you a lot of time. https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@kennyskitchen/kennys-crypto-pick-of-the-month-lethean-lthn?ref=atma.love Thanks Kenny for your research. I'm in!

One of my favourite projects that you didn't mention is celsius, pretty sure you're familiar with it by now. It is basically a centralised finance app that pays dividends if you hold you're cryptos there. They generate money by lending your money for you

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I'm not in there yet but I heard good things about that

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks, and yeah, I've heard about it. Haven't tried it because of the centralization but maybe I'll look into them.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I do use celsius and find it more for eth investment and bitcoin so i use it for long term investment, but it all helps towards it :)

Enjoyed your article. If you are into projects that are there to support community initiatives, I really like the look of Tupan and Baby Shark. The former is an initiative to support the farmers in the Brazilian Amazonian to regenerate the land and forests. The latter is a conservation token already partnered with non-profits to clean up the oceans. I will be investing in both as I believe both have a future and you get the added feel good factor for contributing to society.

Thats the good thing about compounding, even with CUB going down in value in the short term, I have those sweet yields and in the cake kingdom I even earn another Crypto just by staking it. I am trying to increase my bags on #cubdefi and I will just stick with this one project. Recently invested a lot in Splinterlands so cashbags are now empty and waiting to recharge. Monthly investments are still the same or have slightly grown. Long term and diversion is key! There is also a ton of opportunities within the hive leo ecosystem. Keeping a portion of your bags here helps the entire community.
Thanks for reassuring me that this is the right way to go. I plan to retire in the next 15 years. Will make me certainly one of the younger ones to retire in Austria. would be still 18 years before the average male retires here...
I hope for the best and keep stacking on both sides Fiat and Crypto
Good luck with your investments!

Thanks for your thoughtful comment! Wishing you all the success, I know you can achieve it if you'll stay consistent and keep learning!

This is one of the best articles on crypto that I've read recently. Congrats on your excellent work!

I am also really bullish on Rune! It's been a great investment so far and I believe it's going to achieve even more!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I really appreciate it! Have some awesome time ahead!

great stuff, very new to it all so it was good to read! I think I am on the right path.....it is all so confusing....Show Me The Money GIFdownsized_large.gif

In my life, I've had one job that I did for about one month and then quit. Prior to the job, I had already been working hard on my Steem account back in the days.

Over the years, I learnt the basic concept of crypto investment and it is pretty simple, but very sustainable. It is all about moving money around and not focusing on the price but on the value each can bring. For example, the situation with Cub tokens going down the toilet that I talked about here may seem like a bad thing in the short term, but if you look at it long term and of course with the knowledge that you're using a product of a trusted brand, you just adopt a new strategy that enables you to move money around. It's not a loss unless you sell.

Excellent post. I think it's super important to have a goal in mind when entering a market and stick to it.. it lets you take a couple of deep breaths whenever things go sideways. Plus, having a goal doesn't require the steadfast holding of one ideal or another, as you can approach it from many angles.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks a lot! Keep grinding and one day, you'll be there!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This is one of the best articles on crypto that I've read recently)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Really informative article.
The only project in invested in right now is CUB. But with this post, I'm going to check out Thorswap. I've seen it come up here and there.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Favorite Crypto projects: Splinterlands ofc :) And Rising Star.

I think NEON District on the Matic network also has the potential to make it big!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Fantastic and very positive article, which are becoming few and far between these days.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thank you, I really appreciate it!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This sums it up! I've been doing some of this, and slacking on others, but working on removing that slacking part. One of my favourite projects nowadays is AVA: blockhains, cryptos... and travelling?? Count me in!!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks for the comment! I didn't get into AVA when it was $ 0.70 and it makes me kinda sad.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Don't worry, I was even dumber: knew it when it was 0.40 and entered at 2,4... but better late than never! ;)

Compounding is one of underrated things for normal beings, because they want to just get thigs in seconds. Compounding is like consistent effort being put on a thing every second and when years passes it brings the biggest value.

I myself am compounding mainly on hive and some tribe tokens. Rest a small portion on cub. Rune is on my mind, soon I would be on it.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You're right! The hardest thing is to keep grinding for years without spending too much.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Excellent tips on how to be a good investor.

I was interested in what you said about the need to invest constantly in order to earn, I thought it was a one time investment and then wait for it to go up, but this way I will not get anywhere.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks for the insight. Got to learn quite a bit about projects that I had ignored before. And yes, I do have high hopes from Torum. Being a lander surely would help

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

An amazing read, mate! Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

Nice post, and very good advice.

Thanks, Wendy!

Nice post, I like your writing style, plus I enjoyed the multiple point post. The format and of pictures was well done. I think the biggest drawback to being a daily content creator is not having the time to read great posts like this and upvote them making money for both of us!

This brings me to your last point, instead of retiring I actually am at a point where I think if I sell my Bitcoin and eth and invest in DeFi I

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks a lot! Yeah, that's truly a drawback. Lately, with the bull run, it was even harder for me to create daily content. From what I've read, DeFi is coming to BTC, am I right?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Good question. I think that would be great, now I need to Google that topic. 😊

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

great tips. I'll check out Torum for sure : )

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Great post easy to read with all these pictures and Gifs but you are nevertheless sharing all your different ways to get some income and climb up the rich list !

Wishing you th best !

Thanks a lot! @bagofincome appreciates!

Investing is good. My current projects I have invested in tend to be on HIVE(such as LEO and other dividend tokens), Cub Finance and a little bit in Blockfi. Obviously it might be a bit risky to leave it there but I only put in what I can lose.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Your post was promoted by @tfranzini

I use BlockFi, Celsius, Kucoin and DeFi TreeDefi project to lend some money and earn some passive income ;)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Retiring early is certainly the goal. I've worked for many years in the Construction/Renvotion industry and although I am relatively young, I'm already getting tired of it. lol Building up my income and focusing on becoming self-sustainable (by farming) is my goal right now. Working a typical day job isn't beneficial to me and it isn't a good use of my skills.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks. That is very helpful.

Great post - really enjoyed reading it.
