says a file or standard input. If you look through the documentation of Xlib, I didn't find anything about any of this. It took me, I ended up on like an developer.ibm or IBM developer documentation had happened to have an example of a successful command. And it had a .dcc file. And that was the only place I found any indication of what XCMSDB actually expected as input. I don't feel, and I've complained about this already, so I don't want to go on too much about this, but I really do feel like X11 documentation is not set up for user success. Instead of the documentation demonstrating and explaining how to use the commands, it just feels like the documentation is treated as gentle reminders for something that surely you already know. And if you don't know, I guess good luck. Maybe there's an expectation that you do just sit down with all, literally all of the documentation of X11 and read it and learn it before attempting to interact with X11.
