And each distribution handles it a little bit differently. Some Linux distributions that are anti proprietary. Let's just put it that way. Do not give you any sort of guidance on how to use proprietary hardware. And what you will find, though, on those that are a little more pragmatic as far as Linux distributions go, who realize that many people are not going to stick completely with open source free, free as in freedom software, will offer ways to not only download and install the proprietary chips like NVIDIA chips and so on, but also have give you access out of the box to installing those without jumping through a whole bunch of hoops.
