Anyone that has ever told me you can't get rich playing games was clearly wrong after what's happened in the last few days.
DEC Overvalued
Not only has my decks net worth increase by 7x but DEC itself is worth $0.005 (It's real value should be $0.001 which is why you're winning a ton right now for ranked matches to offset the high value) and SPS airdrop is awesome.
I don't think many people know that this is what happens. DEC attempts to hold steady a $0.001 value by rewarding more or reducing rewards for playing games based on the value before. However it's a relatively slow change that happens. It's somewhat in a way what we see with HBD now where it attempts to hold that $1 peg but is susceptible to large sell offs or large buys.
SPS AirDrop
I'll be honest I really enjoy how Splinterlands is doing the air drop. Over the course of 365 days which gives everyone a rather equal chance and the ability to stock up and play more if they want to have more of a stake in the game. It's a smart way to keep demand high and keep activity at all time highs.
The reason we are seeing prices drop right now I feel is because of short-sightedness which is normal. Right now they don't hold any real value however come Aug. 2nd you'll be able stake them to earn more of them and later they will start playing a much larger part in the game. From the way the white paper reads they will do the following...
- In game governance - voting rights to vote for or against proposed changes to the game and ecosystem
- Offers and promotions - Airdrop of cards and getting NFT rewards for buying packs etc are set to have larger or better chances of gold foil etc by how much SPS you have staked or simply having enough staked to allow you to access certain offers within the game.
A lot of this will be happening Q4 while Q3 will primarily be the building phase of where personally I feel you should be accumulating as much SPS as possible if you're in for the long haul.
Currently SPS is selling for $0.48 as of writing this and hit at high point of about $1 that's not bad considering there's really nothing these tokens do at the moment. Just image when they start to and they are required to access certain unlocks and the player base grows even larger!
Splinterlands Future
We can accredit a lot of the recent success to Hive to Splinterlands. It goes to show you how much value dapps such as this both provide value to hive, marketing and velocity. This game update has sparked more promotion than $100,000 spent on a recent DOA so please let's be a little smarter and not just throw money around. We need to be supporting the applications (front ends) of hive and support others to want to come and build on top of hive.
I see even more growth happening to splinterlands and this was only the start. As land rolls out and other features still to come the demand for DEC, SPS, Cards etc are going to sky rocket. I firmly believe I'll have a multi million dollar asset in crypto gaming by the end of this year which blows my mind!

Great post and I definitely think there are current trends that are quite alarming with DEC price. As many are buying up DEC to earn SPS as it was the cheapest and easiest opportunity. But with growing prices it is becoming a risk.
Time to play more and earn more DEC!
I've been playing so much my DEC % reward is at 61% :( but I mean yesterday and the day before rewards where crazy! was making near 200 DEC per match
