Top Hive Earners By Category | Authors, Curators, Witnesses, DAO | February 2021

in LeoFinance3 years ago

This is a report for the top Hive earners by category for February 2021.

01.png

Here we will be looking at the overall inflation distribution for HIVE, looking at the following

  • Authors rewards
  • Curators rewards
  • Witnesses rewards
  • DHF/DAO rewards

Overall HIVE rewarded by date in February 2021

First let’s see the total amount of HIVE rewarded by date in the month.
Here is a chart.

02.png

For comparison, all rewards have been converted to HIVE.

The DHF rewards are a bit specific and not constant. When a proposal is approved it starts receiving funds, because of what this category can vary in payouts.

In the last days of February, a new specific proposal was approved, the @hbdstabilizer, that aims to stabilize the price of HBD. If it increases above 1$, it will sell HBD, buy HIVE and burn it, creating buy pressure for HIVE.

If we exclude the DAO payments, on average around 64k HIVE was rewarded per day in February 2021.

Next let’s take a look at the top earners for each category.

Top Authors

Here is the chart for the top 20 Hive authors that earned the most in February 2021.

03.png

Note: These are not totally accurate numbers because there is a conversion on HBD to HIVE and VESTS to HIVE, for simplification.

Author rewards are one of the most know in the blockchain as a lot of users are attract for them.
@taskmaster4450 is on the top with just above 4k HIVE equivalent earned, followed by @tarazkp and @jrcornel.

Top Curators

Here is the chart for the top 20 Hive curators that earned the most in the month.

04.png

The note from the authors reward applies here as well. The numbers are aporximate.

The @appreciator account it’s the largest account that is curating, ergo the curations rewards. It has around 70k HP earnings. The @ocdb account is next, followed by @blocktrades.

The account above are the biggest curators on the Hive blockchain. Hope they will do a great job in curating and making this place grow.

Top Witnesses

The top witnesses’ earnings charts look like this.

05.png

I have included more than 20 accounts in this chart to show the drop in earnings after the 20th spot. The top 20 are earning around the same amount of HIVE (HP), around 10k per month.

The DAO Payouts

Accounts that received funding from the DAO in the period.

06.png

DHF workers are paid in HBD, but an approximate conversion is made here in HIVE as well for simplicity and later comparison. The numbers are not exact but approximate.

The @hbdstabilizer is on the top here with 200k HIVE equivalent earned, or around 50k HBD. As mentioned, these funds are for buying HIVE and burnt it when the price of HBD increases.

@peak.proposals is next, followed by @ecency and @howo. A total of 14 accounts received funding in February from the dev fund.

Top Earners Cumulative

From the data above we can compile the payout for a single ranking on overall top earners on the Hive blockchain in February 2021.

Here it the chart.

07.png
Note: These are not totally accurate numbers because there is a conversion on HBD to HIVE implemented, and VESTS to HIVE, for simplification.

I have separated the different earnings for the top accounts accordingly.

The @hbdstabilizer as a specific account is on the top in the month. Next is @appreciator as a curation account and @ocdb as well. Two large curators and two DHF workers on the top.

The author rewards are colored in black, and we can see that in the top earners there is not much from the author rewards. The top authors were around 4k to 5k per month, and the last on the list above, is just above 10k with earnings.

The curation and DHF rewards category are dominating in the top 20 HIVE earners list.

All the best
@dalz

I would like to know if in the future you will do analyses on the @hbdstabilizer (volume, impact...) and on the new change of the 3% annual interest (paid monthly) on the HBD which has just been validated and implemented by the witnesses?

Don't miss the Hive Power UP Day! more info here

HBD stabilizer doesn't burn the Hive it busy, it sends it back to the DAO, letting the funds be used again for funding other projects/itself again.

Hm ... maybe something changed ... i remember the first proposal was for burning ... Also sending Hive to the DAO.. and not HBD needs that Hive to be converted to HBD to be usable...

The DAO automatically converts any HIVE sent to it into HBD. It's done instantly, not via the slow trickle that applies to the "ninjamine" fund. Same thing happens when the DAO is set as beneficiary and receives HP.

Nope, it has always been sending to the DAO, never has involved burning: https://peakd.com/hbd/@smooth/request-for-comments-hbd-stabilization-dhf-proposal

Maybe you are thinking of burnpost?

Would be also interesting to see the top earners by the lets say top 25 tags (first tag used). Would love to see some new names and not always the same.

Have not looked at my approved proposals in a bit and am glad that you provided information about @smooth's proposal. After making this comment I will switch to @peakd and give it my vote!

From the chart people may be misled into thinking that the hbdstabilizer account has received 200k hive during the period in question. The reality us that it has not. All of the funds are immediately return back to the DAO.

This is an important clarification that needs to be made. Some people may decide to remove support for it after seeing these numbers (in fact it looks like some big accounts already did and the first proposal is no longer funded).

The fact is that it has removed more than 150k hive from circulation in just a few days (the rest of the funds have been returned as HBD). So whoever removed their support I urge you to reconsider...to put it nicely.

The temporary dropping of support for the 100 HBD/hour proposal (reducing total funding to 200 HBD/hour) was done by some big stakeholders in order to make room in the budget for some other proposals. Once the DAO budget increased (as it does every day) enough to accommodate both, support was restored and funding for the stabilizer went back to 300 HBD/hour.

So the idea is to keep the HBD as more or less a stablecoin? Pegged to the US $1? Am I reading that correctly?

I didn't know that a curator could earn that amount of HIVE, wow. It Blows my mind

Yep ... you just need a few mill Hive Power :)

Wow! The results look great, of course this is hive blockchain where you live your life like a survival so I'm not just impressed but super impressed on how they made it this far.😂😅🤣🤪

What an interesting article! Thanks for all the insights, it makes a creator even more motivated I hope we see increasing numbers on activity on NFT showroom. All these big accounts should invest part of their income in art! To make NFT showroom a place where artists are truly apreciated.
I love the Idea of this ecosystem, and want to see it grow.

Curation is indeed a gold mining option on the Hive blockchain. Would you have a similar stat for the second layer?
