Weekends are usually quiet times for cryptomarkets, even during spectacular bull runs like this one. But today might be different because someone took the trouble of creating what might be major FUD with potentially disastrous cryptowinter-making consequences in next few days. At least if those words are taken seriously.
In, what is arguably the biggest about face or defection in recent crypto history, Nassim Nicholas Taleb has announced that he was selling all of his Bitcoin. He did it on Twitter, explaining that the price is "too volatile" and that you can't buy and sell goods with it.
This tweet created sort of shock among many crypto enthusiasts, especially so because Taleb used to be perceived as one, advocating the use of cryptocurrencies, especially after experienced of his countrymen in financially and monetary troubled Lebanon. Taleb, who also associated cryptosphere with "COVID-denying sociopaths" reacted to their shock and dismay by blocking many of his, until this day, enthusiastic followers.
Taleb is among broader public best-known for popularising concept of Black Swan events, and some may argue this radical conversion into Nocoiner might be interpreted as one. It remains to be seen whether this event will turn Taleb into the world's ultimate Black Swan.
