Hunting Homeless and Mining Immigrants - Great ALT strat for NEW DCITY PLAYERS

Hello and we are back, talking about DCITY, with new updates coming out all the time, I was looking into some of the best strategies for alt accounts, and I think I have found a really good one, especially for new players.

Its always fun to watch the markets and to try to speculate as to what other players are doing, and their strategies. One thing we have noticed, is that HOMELESS prices are on the rise! In fact, if you need population, it might be smart to sell your homeless for immmigrants, as 3 homeless currently buys 2 immigrants, a net gain of 1 population.

Why have the price of homeless pumped so much? I am not quite sure. According to one of the top players - the math says 'there is a shortage'. This comment comes into the context of the question - 'Are job centers any good?'

As one of the largest holders of job centers, we are having a blast training these negative popularity workers into creativity and education workers, and even bland workers. But we are running out of homeless and can no longer buy on the market at these prices. Whatever shall we do?

Hunting Homeless

Yes I know it sounds funny, but we gotta do what we gotta do. And what we gotta do is mine more homeless cards. Enter the 'Tourist Trap' or 'Homeless Hunter' setup - a new meta for your gazing pleasure:

While this is not a ranking city for hive rewards, it does have some benefits. First, it is cheap, and made of cheap cards. According to the 'Approximate City Value', this city is worth just north of 50 hive - we are talking about a 7 dollar city.

There is also not much in the way of SIM income. There is a mysterious 1 sim income that comes from nowhere, but as soon as a homeless or immigrant card lands it will get eaten up in the social costs. I generally check the traps just once a week, so this is not a great strategy for accumulating SIM.

But homeless and immigrants do arrive!

If you figure the homeless base price of 0.225 hive, and immigrant base price of 0.45 hive, which I do, this 50 hive city has the very real potential to be mining 2.36 hive per week. Currently this is inflated a bit due to the expensive homeless market. This 148 day ROI base is not the fastest I have seen on dcity, but this simple and cheap and easy strategy is more than enough to triple your hive investment this year (ceteris paribus of course), and is in no way subject to taxes or any future tax increase.

There is also a very small chance each day of getting a background or animation, 1.8% daily is nothing to sneeze at! These are perhaps price-less, but they do occasionally sell on the market.

My thoughts are that when first edition closes, future updates will be dedicated to increasing the 'citizen' mechanics of population production, transformation and change. Citizens can now become criminals, and soon I bet criminals will be able to be reformed by the system as well, or other new options. This is all speculative, but I am putting our time and hive behind mining these tokens.

I'm still amazed by all the different viable strategies there are in dCity. It seems so simply at first glance but there's a lot of nuance to it!

Is there a strategic reason you have parks and more than 1 art gallery? I keep 1 gallery and added a job center for 3% training chance.

yes, when I started this, basic was at 1 and I figured worker 0.25 and the negative popularity version -10%.

Now however, basic has dropped to ~0.85, and I do sell lots of worker at 0.33 and above.

It seems the market is not quite internally consistent yet.... good comment!
