Axie Infinity is really expensive to start playing.

While it can cost up to $1000 to start playing Axie Infinity, there is also a massive opportunity to earn a real income.

Axie Infinity is the hottest game in the blockchain space right now.

Offering the ability to earn money while playing games, it’s not just gamers who are lapping it up.

However, when it comes to startup costs there are a few things you need to understand before you begin your journey.

While extremely popular, there’s certainly no denying the fact that Axie Infinity is really expensive to start playing.

So let’s take a second to look at whether the ability to earn money playing Axie Infinity is worth paying the huge start up costs.

A screenshot from the Axie Infinity game.

Axie Infinity has a high cost of entry

The high cost of entry is a factor that needs to be considered before you dive straight into Axie Infinity.

That’s right, while Axie Infinity implements a play-to-earn model, you’re still going to have to fork out some cash to get set up.

To get started, players need at least 3 Axies.

If you’re taking the play-to-earn aspect of the game seriously, then you’re going to be looking at upward of $1000 for good starters.

Of course you can look at cheaper Axies to get you going, but as with everything in life…

You get what you pay for!

If you want to make money playing Axie Infinity then stump up the cash for good starters and get off on the right foot.

View your start up Axies as an investment

Remember that each Axie you buy is actually an NFT.

This means that you retain full ownership over that individual asset and are free to do with it as you please.

Yep, including sell it at market value whenever you want to.

So while Axie Infinity may be really expensive to start playing, your gaming assets are actually also long term investments.

Not only do they earn you money (SLP crypto) playing the game, but your starter Axies will likely retain value too.

I’ve read numerous stories of Axie Infinity players recouping their investments, and then some.

For some further reading on how much money you can realistically make, check out this old Axie Infinity earnings review that’s been doing the rounds right here within the LeoFinance community.

Considering that that review was written 7 months ago, before the game’s explosion in popularity and price, you can surely see opportunity here.

Some realistic Axie Infinity earnings

If you pay the high start up costs to get yourself 3 good starter Axies, then you can realistically make good money playing the game.

If you invest $1000 worth of Ethereum into your starters, then you’re looking at a potential income of 500 SLP per week.

At current SLP prices, that’s around $175 USD per week playing Axie Infinity.

After just 2 months, you’ll have earned more than your $1000 initial investment in profits, while still retaining the ability to sell your starter Axies at any time.

Potentially for a profit!

Best of probabilities to you.

crazy.

Would be interesting to compare Splinterlands and axie in earnings with 1k investment.

How much time to spend and so on :).

Really interesting Game, thanks for sharing!!!

An Axie Infinity vs Splinterlands comparison blog would be great.

So when should we expect to see it on your blog? ;)

I'm not good in comparison :D

I just checked the #axieinfinity tag and found @chorock asking the same question - Should I invest in Axie Infinity or Splinterlands?

Hey mate, what answer did you settle on?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I decided to invest Splinterlands.

Reasons...

  • Hive Blockchain. I should support.
  • Axie is too expensive. It may be FOMO.
  • Splinterlands is still a baby. Will grow...

I will wait also for ETH death cross. It will be happened a few weeks later. I am waiting ETH in 1000 USD. I will look Axie prices in this level...

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts on the two games.

There's definitely a FOMO element to Axie Infinity right now, but couldn't you argue the same for Splinterlands?

Look at some of the prices their own NFTs are going for.

Wild.

SPS airdrop will be big update for Splinterlands. I think we are at the beginning on the way for long term.

I would pick splinterlands because of the track record of card value. IMO it is less likely they are worthless tomorrow :) Even it was born in a bear market.

Axie is IMO riskier.

I think playing Axie is worth it, the game has exponentially gotten traction in the past few weeks, I know not a lot of people can fork out $1000, but then since one can still sell their start up investment with the probability it'll go up in value. It's seriously a win win.

Also it's important to remember that the $1000 initial investment into Axie starters is if you want to make a decent income playing the game.

Technically you can start with much less.

It's just you will get shitty starter Axies that won't make you a lot of money week to week.

It all depends on what you're trying to get out of playing the game.

Just started with the game 3 days back and with the way the SLP tokens price is going it really is a promising game. Really expensive though. I wish I started way earlier.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Hindsight is 20/20 though, isn't it? ;)

We always wish we got involved in games, tokens and crypto investments earlier than we did.

Then when we do get in early, we wish we went bigger haha.

There's always something...

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

LOl yeah. So true. I was ignoring it few months ago because I felt it was too expensive already. Now the FOMO really kicked in, I feel like kicking myself too. haha

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Our very own LEO is looking pretty damn cheap lately.

Could very well be the investment that we're FOMOing into next month haha.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Hey very useful info bro, thanks.

I know that other people like let you use their account and you can get 40% of the profits or something like that.

It seems interesting, but, don't you think SLP could go down in any moment when people start selling it? Idk that would be a big dump

Yep, there are a ton of opportunities on Axie Infinity for sponsorships.

Just type Axie Infinity sponsor into Google and look at the endless Reddit threads with gamers and sponsors matching up.

Just be careful because a sponsorship essentially means that you're working for someone else for minimum wage.

An Axie Infinity sponsorship is certainly not as glamourous as it sounds and I wouldn't recommend.

I wouldn't mind trying but my current schedule doesn't fit it for me right now. I think someone mentioned to me that you would require at least an hour a day.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

If you want to make an income from playing Axie Infinity, then yes you're going to have to put at least an hour a day into it.

But remember at the end of the day, it's still a game which you can play for fun too.

Just depends what you want to get out of it :)

Axie Infinity's success shows the potential of all blockchain games. There is no reason why splinterlands cant tap into it.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You could argue that Splinterlands is still the blockchain game that's leading the charge.

Splinterlands is still number 3 on State of the dApps and trending up.

While it doesn't have the current mainstream hype of Axie Infinity, Splinterlands is still booming.

That's a huge positive signal for me.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That is true. Splinterlands is doing well.

@dalz posted the latest Splinterlands figures.

They are showing very nice growth.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's a decent return on investment on $1000. If someone is serious about gaming as career, they can invest in such games and earn from multiple sources.

I will probably make a list on top Blockchain based games like Axie Infinity. ✌️

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Just have to remember that right now we're probably at the peak of the hype cycle and those numbers most likely won't last.

In your list, it would be cool to see how you compare Axie Infinity to Splinterlands in both current activity and potential.

Looking forward to it.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

..hype cycle and those numbers most likely won't last.

Yes, we gotta ride the hype wave otherwise it won't have much impact. This happens with trends which is why I try to squeeze in evergreen content regularly.

In your list, it would be cool to see how you compare Axie Infinity to Splinterlands in both current activity and potential.

I will see what I can do about it since I am not a gamer myself. But I would like to research about them a little bit.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I remember when this started and it didn't cost more than $50 dollars for an axie, now I don't think I can get into the game anymore :'(

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Did you keep any of your bought Axies?

Surely they'll be a nice little money-spinner for you even if you were to stop playing and just sell?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Unfortunately I was not able to buy any because I did not have the opportunity to

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Things are escalating very quickly i would say. I kept watching it when it took 500$ to invest a couple months ago. And I am still watching it when it takes 1k. 😐😵

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Haha damn.

But we can't mull on our missed investments.

The good thing about the crypto space is that there's always another Axie Infinity just around the corner.

You've just gotta put yourself in a position to take advantage when it comes along.

I was going to get started in it but seems pricy and I'm going to imagine you need constant people coming in to fuel it. If it drops down to $500 or less I might reconsider joining lol

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yeah, we're probably at the very top of the hype cycle right now.

As soon as you start talking about scholarships and earning a wage from the game, the top is surely in haha.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I have also thought to start the game but it seems for the start-up, yes it is expensive but the ROI can be made within 20-40 days at the current price so if anyone can play and have time to do, it is really a great game.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That 20-40 day timeframe to make your investment back is actually pretty fast.

I know it's technically work as you have to actively play the game and not just passively invest, but it's pretty good.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Wow! 1000$ is an impressive startup investment.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It is a high start up cost, I know.

But at current prices (the key here), you can get a return on your investment in just a few weeks time.
